I think unconsciousness is habit. For example, I automatically stand on the right side when I get on escalator because I was taught in an early teach to do so by my parents. My mindset and the ways I do thinks are formed since I was little. I have never questioned anything but listened when I was young and lived with my parents. However, the more I learn, see and experience, I found myself to question everything I know about myself and about the world.
The ability to talk to our unconscious depends on how open we are to change and how curious we are about ourselves and about everything that surrounds us. Nothing is what it seems, and we just need to start asking questions instead of living like a robot that follows rules and routines.
I have tried journaling and positive thinking techniques to be more aware of my thoughts and my actions. It was helpful, but I haven't made that into a habit yet. There are a lot of apps nowadays like Headspace and Apple Health to help people to meditate and to track diet and sleep. Technology can help, but only can help those who are willing to put in work. Nothing works automatically, and there's no magic pill.
For this week's assignment, I want to keep it simple since I have started working on my final project, so I decided to practice using runwayml to manipulate pictures.
First image manipulation was a model called deep dream. The result is trippy. It looks like something you will see in your dream or on drugs.
Second one I did was to use multiple pizza images to generate interpolation video. It was fun to see how an object interpolates. Next time, I want to use my pictures from my childhood and present and see how gradually my look changes.
