My teammate (Alan) and I spent the whole afternoon to make this animation. It was fun to work with him and bounce off ideas/problems with each other.
We talked about our work flow. We both are literal thinkers. For our last projects, I made a painting and he made a cartoon character. So, for this project, we decided to try something new and make an animation only with one or two shapes. It was really hard at first because we couldn't imagine how to make something cool and meaningful. We started brainstorming, drawing and searching online for inspirations. Finally, we just started coding with simple elements and went from there.
We divided the works. I made the rollover with a highlight, and he made the balls bouncing. I combined our codes together to make it interactive. We are proud of the result and how we collaborated as a team, but we were satisfied with the animation for the balls. It was simple, and we wanted to make something look cool. We both started working on creating different effect with the balls. We tried making them change colors and grow bigger and shrink and expand. All the effects didn't come together, and made the whole thing look messy. Therefore, we just kept the shrink and expand effect.
What to improve:
I like how we changed our literal thinking in the creation, but I want to be more creative with the next project. Maybe my inspiration can come from artworks or movies and music albums, and use the elements from that to make my drawing/animation more meaningful.
I also want to get more familiar with other less used functions. I feel like I'm only comfortable with using a few of the functions.
